I have been filming interviews with some of the great pioneers of the steel guitar for a forthcoming movie project. I look forward to talking to as many people as I can for information and insight into this great American story. So far I have filmed scenes with Buddy Emmons,Johnny Bush, Ralph Mooney, Don Helms, Maurice Anderson, Cindy Cashdollar, Herb Remington, BJ Cole and Neil Flanz.
I welcome any input regarding this project. I'm trying to put together a story that tells the story of the development of the steel guitar and it's principal players set against the backdrop of American history and music. The intent is to try to make a film with broad appeal for release to television, film festivals, etc.
Here are a couple of pictures from the interview sessions we've done so far. It has been a real thrill to get to hang out and visit with these legends of the steel guitar.
